Dan Snowden of Peoria took his 8-year-old son Kurt on his first hunting trip on May 8th. In Dan’s words: “He had trouble getting up that early, but said he sure was glad he did. His favorite part was hearing the turkey get closer and gobble. I shot it about 10 minutes after shooting time as it came in hot right for the decoys. The turkey weighed 22 pounds, hand an 11-inch beard, and had 1 1/4 inch spurs. What a great way to end or first trip to the woods together.”
